The curious Case of Google Chrome

This time I want to report on a special faction which does not yet have its own territory.

Cooperating with almost every combattant to enhance their capabilities this faction could be labeled as the jack of all trades. It wants to see itself as the neutral faction. Over the course of its existence, it managed to be included into every factions' arsenal. Over the time, its capabilities have become so accepted and anticipated, that battle without it can hardly be imagined.

However, since almost almost any faction have these capabilities at their disposal it is seldom used in combat.

Its arsenal was instrumental in enabling the distribution of visual propaganda throughout the world, spearheaded by the youtube movement, which is incidentally a Google project.

Without a doubt, this faction follows its own sinister agenda of which little has as yet been divulged. One item is that it tries to force combattants to use special ammunition which only this faction sells. Another item might be a new type of strategy which enables them to gain their own ground inside their allies' territory, using special troop transports to allow them to move independently.

Obviously, the cold Browser War is its natural habitat.

But there has been a new development in the last years.

As we all know the land development strategy over the sea of waves has yielded quite some impressive results.

At first most of the combattants managed to erect their own floating fortresses which were then fortified heavily. Considering the state of floating technology this was not always adequately accomplished. In these early times, the Opera armed construction brigade helped in building some of the fortresses.

As you can imagine our jack of all trades faction also wanted its weapons technology implemented on these floating grounds, and based on their previous reputation was warmly welcomed. However, it transpired that their weapons technology was very heavy and an extreme burden for the floating fortresses. Attempts to improve this situation have not yet yielded satisfying results, so fortresses equipped with their technology are not quite as stable as they intend to be.

The real outcry came when the combined Webkit/Apple forces began erecting their flying fortress1. When the construction was finished, it was quickly realized that our special faction was completely shut out from the beginning. This was a completely new development, since before everyone wanted to have their enhancements. But as it seems, the Webkit flying fortress has greatly benefitted from not outfitting themselves with the heavy technology and resisted any attempts of their entry. On the contrary, current Webkit floating weapons research concentrates on replacing core attack technologies to also get enhanced functionality without the heavyness.

Being a cold war player, the faction won't use its arsenal itself and therefore limits itself to dubious war propaganda about the Webkit fortress not properly functioning without them.
But change does not seem to be on the horizon. But tensions might arise.

I forgot, the name of this faction is: Flash. (Would you have guessed?)

  1. Meanwhile, Webkit also helped to build more floating fortresses, being the de facto successor to Opera in this field
